Detroit-based accounting and advisory firm George Johnson & Co. has completed its four-year transition process and Managing Partner Anthony McCree is the firm’s new sole owner.
With the commencement of the 4 1/2 year transition, George Johnson — who has been an owner of Detroit’s oldest Black-owned CPA firm since 1971 — will no longer be active with the company.
“More than four years ago, I selected Anthony as the designated leader of the firm and together, we designed and implemented a transition plan to ensure a solid future of growth for GJC,” Johnson said in a statement. “Anthony’s experience, relationships and energy have proven to serve as the right combination for ongoing success in our field.”
Headquartered in the Buhl Building in downtown Detroit, the firm also has an office in downtown Chicago.
